Inspired Indian Foundation:
A movement launched by two
boatmen gains momentum

The soft launch of Inspired Indian Foundation by two boatmen Rajesh and Prashant at Kumarakom in Kerala on April 14, 2008. The Foundation was registered in Bangalore on July 6, 2009, under Indian Trusts Act.

The Inspired Indian Foundation is the brainchild of a group of people who make a living out of writing. Most of us work in the Media and Communication fields and what binds us together are our passion and commitment to propel India’s future flights. We believe that if India has to change, WE must change first.

The soft launch of the Inspired Indian Foundation took place in 2008 sans banners, microphones and speeches. Two boat drivers – Rajesh and Prashant – launched the Foundation activities in the placid backwaters of Kerala as curious villagers looked on (see pic above). Interestingly, Rajesh is a BA Economics graduate who has become a boatman to support his family.

The Inspired Indian Foundation, registered under the Indian Trusts Act, aims to promote good writing and celebrate unsung heroes. A Different Spirit – an authorized biography of noted wheelchair athlete Malathi K. Holla -- is the Foundation’s first project.

A quarterly magazine for Journalism & Communication students and professionals is on its way. We also plan to lend a helping hand to the deserving, once the Foundation grows. The Foundation is keen to open its membership window to all those who support social causes with a difference.

We invite corporates, companies, individuals and other organizations, who find our movement different and inspiring, to support our cause through sponsorship. In return, we shall feature your logos on the right-hand side of this website on all pages. We shall also give you a branding option when our magazine hits the stands. We also seek support for the innovative activities of the Foundation aimed at supporting the unsung heroes.

Thank you for introducing me to Inspired Indian Foundation. It is a wonderful effort to bring up issues and causes that plague our country at this time. Taking its roots in the backwaters of Kerala, the movement has come a long way and now it should spread to a pan-India level. All the best. Pulak Sen, Editor-in-Chief, Indian Aviation
